Find My Tools: EquipmentShare
Never lose your power tool and never question your construction progress.
EquipmentShare is a digital solutions platform for builders to track their assets, materials, and people.
An Operating System for Construction
Construction is messy and chaotic. Goods and people are constantly in motion. From the contractors and suppliers to equipment and materials - things and people are bound to get lost. But it doesn’t have to be messy. EquipmentShare’s vision is to be the “OS for Construction”. Their primary offering is their T3 Technology platform, which is an all-in-one platform to extract equipment data, track material inventory and costs, and forecast labor requirements. Their tool enables contractors to connect their physical site with a digital interface. GCs can virtually monitor multiple sites at their fingertips.
Like an Apple Air Tag, but for power tools
Owning and servicing construction equipment and vehicles requires a lot of overhead. EquipmentShare began as a peer-to-peer marketplace rental company back in 2014. After finding traction with GCs and subs, they expanded their service to include fleet tracking and preventative maintenance. One of the biggest expenses for GCs is equipment. And every hour that a piece of equipment sits idle contributes to lost time and money. On average, machinery sits idle for 28-30% of the time. EquipmentShare reduces the amount of idle time by introducing a mechanism for builders to track utilization. Their proprietary Bluetooth tags and cameras integrate with their platform, providing builders with real-time updates about their machinery health and usage.
In addition to fleet tracking, their T3 platform includes a myriad of other construction workflows, such as automated time sheets, invoicing, and work order tracking.
Currently at +140 locations nationwide, it’s clear that general contractors trust in EquipmentShare to run their operations.
